About Grant:

Grant Humes -

The second oldest of four children, Grant Humes was born on April 8, 1957 in Burnaby B.C.  Grant’s family moved to Toronto (Willowdale) in the early sixties.  Grant and his wife Laurie currently reside in Bowmanville. They have five adult children.

After attending University of Toronto, Grant began his 31 year business career with The Toronto Board of Trade. He held a variety of management positions in the organization, including General Manager of the Board of Trade Golf Club from 1991-2001. Grant also held leadership positions with several industry associations during this time, including serving as Ontario Branch President of the Canadian Society of Club Managers.  He completed his career serving as the Board of Trade’s Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from 2001 until he retired from the Board in March 2011.

A strong believer in community involvement, Grant has served as the founding Treasurer of the Clarington Branch of the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario. This group has advocated for the preservation of the historic training school/Camp 30 site in Bowmanville and has successfully introduced the province wide Doors Open program to Clarington, which has benefited the community by providing both residents and non-residents access to sites of historic and natural interest.
